Trevor Bardette
Trevor Bardette, born Terva Gaston Hubbard (Nashville, November 19, 1902 – Los Angeles, November 28, 1977), was a prolific American character actor whose career spanned over four decades. Recognizable for his stern face and deep voice, he specialized in roles as an antagonist, sheriff, or lawman in countless productions, especially in the Western genre. His film career, which began in the mid-1930s, includes appearances in classic films such as "The Mark of Zorro" (1940), as the corrupt magistrate, and "Johnny Guitar" (1954). His fame was further solidified on television, where he became one of the most familiar faces of the 1950s and '60s. His most celebrated role is that of Newman Haynes Clanton, the patriarch of the Clanton clan, in the popular television series "The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp". Appearing in hundreds of episodes of series such as "Gunsmoke" and "The Lone Ranger", Bardette did not win any major awards, but his contribution to the Western genre is recognized for his ubiquity and his ability to embody archetypal figures of the American frontier.
