Tsutomu Takeshige
Tsutomu Takeshige is a Japanese screenwriter and game designer, primarily known for his fundamental contribution to Capcom's *Resident Evil* video game series. He worked as a planner and writer for the first *Resident Evil* (1996), helping to define the narrative foundations and atmosphere of the survival horror genre. Subsequently, he wrote the original script for *Resident Evil 2*, a version of the game that was later scrapped and is now known to fans as *Resident Evil 1.5*. After leaving the project and Capcom, his career continued with writing scenarios for other successful titles, including *Dino Crisis* (1999) and *Onimusha: Warlords* (2001). His pioneering work is recognized as one of the key elements that led to the initial success of *Resident Evil* and influenced the narrative development of horror video games.
