
Tullio Kezich
Tullio Kezich (Trieste, 1928 – Rome, 2009) was one of the most authoritative Italian film critics, screenwriters, and writers of the second half of the 20th century. His career as a critic saw him collaborate for decades with prestigious publications such as the weekly magazine *Panorama*, *Corriere della Sera*, and *la Repubblica*, establishing him as a leading voice in the analysis of Italian and international cinema. At the same time, he worked extensively as a screenwriter, forging a pivotal partnership with director Ermanno Olmi, for whom he co-wrote the masterpiece *La leggenda del santo bevitore* (1988), which won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. As a writer, his most celebrated work is the monumental biography *Fellini: La vita e i film*, considered an essential text on the director from Rimini, with whom he maintained a long-standing friendship. He also authored diaries and essays, and throughout his career he received numerous awards, including the Nastro d'Argento and the Flaiano Prize for film criticism.
