Ulla Jacobsson

Ulla Jacobsson (1929-1982) was an internationally renowned Swedish actress, primarily active in the 1950s and 1960s. She rose to fame in 1951 with the film *One Summer of Happiness* (Hon dansade en sommar), a work that caused controversy for a nude scene but earned her the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival. Her career was solidified through her collaboration with Ingmar Bergman in *Smiles of a Summer Night* (1955), a film awarded at the Cannes Film Festival which established her as one of the leading European actresses of her time. Subsequently, she embarked on an international career, participating in major English-language productions such as *Zulu* (1964) and *The Heroes of Telemark* (1965). Her versatile filmography also includes work in German cinema, for which she received a Deutscher Filmpreis for Best Actress. In addition to film, she worked in theatre and television before her untimely death in Vienna.
