
Valentina Malyavina
Valentina Aleksandrovna Malyavina (1941-2021) was a Soviet and Russian theater and film actress, known for her active career during the 1960s and 1970s. She achieved international fame with her debut role in Andrei Tarkovsky's masterpiece *Ivan's Childhood* (1962), which established her as one of the most promising faces of her generation. Her filmography includes approximately forty films, with notable titles such as *The Stag King* (1969) and the Italian-Soviet co-production *Sunflower* (1970), directed by Vittorio De Sica. Alongside her film career, she was an acclaimed theater actress, affiliated for over fifteen years with the prestigious Vakhtangov Theatre in Moscow, where she performed numerous prominent roles. For her artistic merits, in 1993 she was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. Her career came to an abrupt and definitive end in the mid-1980s due to complex personal circumstances.
