Vali Kerekes, born Valéria Kerekes (Sátoraljaújhely, October 4, 1917 – Budapest, June 29, 1990), was a Hungarian actress, considered one of the most celebrated divas of the national cinema in the 1930s and 1940s. After completing her studies at the Academy of Drama and Film in Budapest, she began her career in theater before quickly establishing herself in film, starting with her debut in 1936. Her filmography includes numerous successful films in which she often portrayed elegant, witty, and modern characters. Among her most notable performances are her roles in *Mágnás Miska* (1949), one of the most popular musical comedies in Hungarian cinema, and *Különös házasság* (1951). Her talent and artistic contribution were officially recognized in 1953 when she was awarded the prestigious Kossuth Prize, the highest Hungarian state honor for culture and the arts.
