Venera Bonaccorso
Venera Bonaccorso is an Italian writer and screenwriter. Her career began in the film industry, where she established herself through her artistic collaboration with director Roberta Torre. Together they wrote the screenplays for critically acclaimed films such as *Tano da morire* (1997), a work that earned them the Nastro d'Argento for Best Original Story, and *Sud Side Stori* (2000). Subsequently, she focused her work on fiction, establishing herself as a novelist. Her writing explores complex family and social dynamics with a personal and incisive style. Her literary works include *Le cognate* (2008) and, most notably, *Gli anni del nostro incanto* (2018). It was with this latter novel that she received her most important recognition, winning the prestigious Bagutta Prize in 2019—one of Italy's major literary awards—which established her as one of the authoritative voices in contemporary literature.
