Vera Gebuhr
Vera Margrethe Gebuhr (Odense, 15 May 1916 – Gentofte, 22 December 2014) was a Danish actress. Trained at the Royal Danish Theatre School, she made her debut in 1937 and developed a long and prolific stage career, working mainly for the Folketeatret and the Det Ny Teater. Although active in film since the 1930s with over 70 film credits, her prominence grew enormously thanks to her role as Inger Jørgensen, wife of banker Hans Christian Varnæs, in the iconic television series *Matador* (1978-1982), which brought her great national popularity. In her later years, she received significant recognition for her film work: in 1998, she won the Bodil Award for Best Supporting Actress for the film *Let's get lost*, and in 2001, she was awarded an Honorary Bodil for her lifetime achievement, in recognition of her significant and lasting contribution to Danish cinema and theatre.
