Viktor Sukhorukov

Viktor Ivanovich Sukhorukov, born on November 10, 1951, in Orekhovo-Zuyevo, is a Russian theater and film actor. He gained international recognition for his role as Viktor Bagrov in Aleksei Balabanov's cult films *Brother* (1997) and *Brother 2* (2000). His career is marked by intense and memorable roles. He collaborated again with Balabanov on *Of Freaks and Men* (1998) and received widespread acclaim for his portrayal of Emperor Paul I in Vitaly Melnikov's film *Poor, Poor Pavel* (2003), for which he won the Nika Award for Best Actor. His other significant works include Pavel Lungin's *The Island* (2006). Alongside his film career, he has maintained a prolific career in theater at prestigious venues such as the Lenkom and the Vakhtangov Theatre in Moscow. For his contribution to the arts, in 2008 he was awarded the title of People's Artist of the Russian Federation and has received numerous other accolades, including the Golden Eagle Award.
