Vincent Leonard Price Jr. was an American actor, primarily known for his performances in horror cinema. His career began on stage, later extending to film with roles in various genres, including the noir *Laura* (1944). Beginning in the 1950s, he became an icon of the horror genre thanks to films such as *House of Wax* (1953) and the celebrated series of Edgar Allan Poe adaptations directed by Roger Corman, such as *House of Usher* (1960) and *The Masque of the Red Death* (1964). With his deep and unmistakable voice, Price also lent his talent to voice acting, becoming the narrator on Michael Jackson's song "Thriller" and the voice of Professor Ratigan in the Disney film *The Great Mouse Detective*. One of his last significant appearances was in Tim Burton's *Edward Scissorhands* (1990). For his contribution to the film and television industry, he was honored with two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
