Vittorina Benvenuti (1884–1965) was an Italian actress, a prominent figure among the character actresses of national cinema. After debuting in the theater, she began a prolific film career in the 1930s, becoming one of the most familiar and sought-after faces of the big screen for over three decades. Specializing in supporting roles, she portrayed maternal figures, governesses, aunts, and common women with great effectiveness and naturalness, lending depth and authenticity to each character. She worked with prominent directors such as Alessandro Blasetti, who directed her in memorable films like *Quattro passi fra le nuvole* (1942) and *La cena delle beffe* (1942), and Mario Camerini. Her filmography includes over seventy titles, including *Fabiola* (1949) and her role in successful comedies such as Dino Risi's *Poveri ma belli* (1957). Although she did not receive any major individual awards, her contribution was fundamental to the richness of Italian cinema of the period, earning her lasting recognition as one of the most reliable and versatile actresses of her generation.
