Her career, which began in the late 1940s, was distinguished by prestigious collaborations with the leading directors of the era, including Luchino Visconti, Vittorio De Sica, and Federico Fellini. She designed the costumes for masterpieces of Neorealism and *commedia all'italiana*, defining the image of icons such as Anna Magnani and Sophia Loren. Her most significant works include *Bellissima* (1951), *Le notti di Cabiria* (1957), *La ciociara* (1960), and the celebrated films by De Sica starring Loren and Mastroianni, such as *Ieri, oggi, domani* (1963) and *Matrimonio all'italiana* (1964). Her style, characterized by meticulous realism, translated the psychology of the characters and the social context into clothing. For her contribution to *Matrimonio all'italiana*, she won the Nastro d'Argento for Best Costume Design in 1965, a testament to her fundamental role in the history of Italian film costume design.
