Vlad Ivanov
Vlad Ivanov is an internationally renowned Romanian actor, recognized for his ability to portray complex and often ambiguous characters. He rose to fame with his role as Dr. Bebe in Cristian Mungiu's *4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days* (2007), which won the Palme d'Or at Cannes.
This film marked the beginning of a series of collaborations with leading directors of the Romanian New Wave, including Corneliu Porumboiu (*Polițist, adjectiv*, 2009; *La Gomera*, 2019) and Mungiu himself (*Un etaj mai jos*, 2015). Ivanov specialises in roles as authority figures, bureaucrats, men of law or criminals, often characterised by an unsettling calm and subtle intensity.
He has extended his career to international productions such as *Toni Erdmann* (Germany, 2016) and *Dogman* (Italy, 2018). His acting style is understated but extremely incisive, making him one of the most distinctive actors in contemporary cinema.
