William Vail

William Vail, born November 30, 1950, is an American actor and production designer, known primarily for his roles in horror films. His most celebrated performance is that of Kirk in Tobe Hooper's 1974 cult film, *The Texas Chain Saw Massacre*, a role that established him as an iconic figure in the genre. His acting career also includes appearances in other productions, such as the films *Mausoleum* (1983) and *Glitch!* (1988). Subsequently, Vail continued his career in Hollywood working behind the scenes, distinguishing himself as a set decorator and production designer. In these roles, he contributed to highly successful productions such as *Poltergeist* (1982).
