Wolfgang Lukschy

Wolfgang Lukschy (Berlin, October 19, 1905 – Berlin, July 10, 1983) was a German actor and voice actor. Active for over four decades, he became a prominent figure in German cinema, especially in the post-war period. Among his most significant film roles are his performances in *The Murderers Are Among Us* (1946), one of the first and most important German films of the post-World War II era, and in the adventure films directed by Fritz Lang, *The Tiger of Eschnapur* (1959) and *The Indian Tomb* (1959). However, his fame in Germany is inextricably linked to his prolific career as a voice actor. His deep, authoritative voice made him the official German voice for numerous international stars, including James Stewart, Gregory Peck, John Wayne, Gary Cooper, and, in particular, Clint Eastwood in Sergio Leone's Dollars Trilogy. Considered one of the most versatile character actors and an iconic voice actor of his time, he left a lasting mark on the German film and television landscape.
