Wyndham Standing
Wyndham Standing (London, August 23, 1880 – Los Angeles, February 1, 1963) was a British actor, a member of a celebrated acting dynasty that included his father Herbert and his brothers Guy and Jack. He began his career on the stage in the United Kingdom before moving to the United States, where he became an established leading man during the silent film era. His most significant roles from this period include films such as *The Dark Angel* (1925), *Smilin' Through* (1922), and *The Isle of Conquest* (1919), often alongside stars such as Norma Talmadge. With the advent of sound, his popularity as a leading man declined, but Standing continued his career playing supporting roles, often uncredited, in numerous productions, including *Dracula* (1931) and *The Life of Emile Zola* (1937). For his contribution to the motion picture industry, he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
