Yevgeni Ilyich Zharikov (1941–2012) was a renowned Soviet and Russian film and theater actor. A graduate of the prestigious VGIK institute in 1964, he had already made his screen debut in Andrei Tarkovsky's film *Ivan's Childhood* (1962). His popularity peaked with the role of police officer Nikolai Kondratyev in the highly successful television series *Born of the Revolution* (1974–1977), a performance that earned him the USSR State Prize in 1978. Throughout his long career, he appeared in over 200 films, often portraying positive and heroic characters. Also active as a voice actor, he dubbed numerous international stars for Russian audiences. For his artistic merits, he was awarded the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR in 1989, the highest honor for an artist in the republic. He also served as president of the Guild of Film Actors of Russia.
