
Yolande Moreau
Yolande Moreau is a Belgian actress, director, and screenwriter, born in Brussels in 1953. Initially active in comedic theater productions, she rose to prominence in France with the television series "Les Deschiens". In film, she gained international recognition with a role in "Amélie", but widespread acclaim came with her two César Awards for Best Actress. She won the first in 2005 for "Quand la mer monte...", a film she also co-wrote and co-directed, which won the award for Best First Feature Film. She received her second in 2009 for her intense portrayal of the painter Séraphine de Senlis in the film "Séraphine". Her filmography includes titles such as "Gainsbourg (vie héroïque)", "Mammuth", and "Louise-Michel", works in which she often portrays marginalized, melancholic characters endowed with a deep humanity. In 2013, she directed her second feature film, "Henri", confirming her authorial talent in addition to her acting.
