
Yoshitaka Zushi
Yoshitaka Zushi (Kanagawa, March 19, 1955) is a Japanese actor, primarily known for his 1970 film debut as the young Rokuchan in Akira Kurosawa's *Dodes'ka-den*. His intense performance earned him the prestigious Kinema Junpo Award for Best New Actor, launching his career under the guidance of one of cinema's greatest masters. His collaboration with Kurosawa continued with roles in other major films by the director, including *Dersu Uzala* (1975) and the epic *Ran* (1985), where he played the blind flute player Tsurumaru. Although his filmography includes other titles, he remains inextricably linked to these collaborations, which represent the pinnacle of his artistic career and have established him as one of the iconic faces of Kurosawa's later-period cinema.
