Yudif Glizer
Yudif Moiseevna Glizer (1904-1968) was a Soviet theater and film actress, known for her intense performances. Her career took off at the Meyerhold Theatre, where she became one of the leading actresses, playing iconic roles such as Anna Andreevna in Gogol's "The Government Inspector" and Sofia Pavlovna in Griboyedov's "Woe from Wit." After the theatre's closure, from 1938 she worked at the Revolution Theatre (now the Mayakovsky Theatre) in Moscow, distinguishing herself in plays such as Arbuzov's "Tanya" and Gorky's "The Mother." Concurrently, she had a film career, although less extensive, appearing in films such as "A Great Life" (Bolshaya zhizn). For her artistic contributions, she received numerous accolades, including the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR (1954), two Stalin Prizes (1941), and the Order of the Red Banner of Labour. Her ability to combine psychological depth with great expressiveness made her a prominent figure in 20th-century Russian theatre.
