Yvonne De Carlo, born Margaret Yvonne Middleton, was a Canadian-American actress, singer, and dancer, active from the 1940s to the 1990s. She rose to fame in Hollywood as the star of Technicolor adventure films, including *Salome, Where She Danced* (1945), which established her as a star thanks to her exotic allure. Her film career includes memorable performances in a variety of genres, from the film noir *Criss Cross* (1949) to the biblical epic *The Ten Commandments* (1956), in which she played Sephora, the wife of Moses, one of her most acclaimed roles. Her worldwide fame, however, is inextricably linked to the character of Lily Munster in the celebrated television sitcom *The Munsters* (1964–1966). She later achieved great success on Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's musical *Follies* (1971). For her contribution to the entertainment industry, she was awarded two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, one for motion pictures and one for television.
