Zachary Scott
Zachary Scott was an American actor, known primarily for his roles as charming but morally ambiguous men in films of the 1940s and 1950s. He began his career on Broadway before signing a contract with Warner Bros. and making his screen debut in the film *The Mask of Dimitrios* (1944). His most famous role is arguably that of Monty Beragon in the classic noir *Mildred Pierce* (1945), opposite Joan Crawford, which solidified his image as an elegant and unscrupulous antagonist. That same year, however, he demonstrated his versatility by playing the lead role in Jean Renoir's drama *The Southerner*. His filmography also includes titles such as *Flamingo Road* (1949) and *Born to Be Bad* (1950). As his film career slowed, he focused more on theater and television. For his contribution to the film industry, he was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
