Zuhal Gencer is a Turkish film, television, and theater actress. Professionally trained at the Theater Department of the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory in Istanbul, she began her career on the stage. She achieved international recognition for her role in Nuri Bilge Ceylan's critically acclaimed film *Uzak* (2002), which was presented at the Cannes Film Festival. Her versatile film career includes the movie *8. Saniye* (2015), for which she received one of the most prestigious awards in Turkish cinema: the Best Actress award at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival.
