Anna Ukolova (born February 15, 1978) is an acclaimed Russian stage and screen actress, known for her extraordinary versatility and ability to portray deeply authentic characters that resonate with popular sensibilities. Originally from the Samara region, she graduated with honors from the prestigious Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS) in 2001. Her career has taken off both on stage, particularly at the Theatre of Nations, and on the big screen. She gained international recognition for her role in the film The Spot (Tochka, 2006), winning the Silver Hugo for Best Actress at the Chicago International Film Festival. Her fame has been cemented by memorable performances in acclaimed films such as Zhit (To Live, 2011) and especially Andrey Zvyagintsev's Leviathan (2014), for which she received a Nika Award nomination. She is also a very popular face on Russian television, starring in the hit comedy series Ivanovy-Ivanovy, for which she won a TEFI Award for Best TV Series Actress.
