Art Gilmore, born Arthur Wells Gilmore (1912–2010), was an American announcer, voice-over artist, and actor whose career spanned radio, television, and film. He rose to prominence during the Golden Age of Radio, where he lent his authoritative and unmistakable voice to highly successful programs such as *The Dr. Christian Show* and *Red Ryder*. His fame is primarily linked to his role as the narrator for countless movie trailers from the 1940s to the 1970s, which made him one of the most recognizable voices in Hollywood. In television, he served as the official announcer for major shows, including *The Red Skelton Show* and *The George Gobel Show*. Concurrently, he appeared as an actor in minor roles, often portraying an announcer, as in the television series *Dragnet*.
