Claude Brasseur, born Claude Espinasse (Neuilly-sur-Seine, June 15, 1936 – Paris, December 22, 2020), was a highly popular French actor and a prominent figure in cinema and theater. The son of actors Pierre Brasseur and Odette Joyeux, he built a career spanning over sixty years, characterized by a remarkable versatility that allowed him to excel in both dramatic and comedic roles. Among his most celebrated performances are the role of Daniel in *Certi piccolissimi peccati* (1976) and that of Sophie Marceau's father in the cult comedy *Il tempo delle mele* (1980), which cemented his reputation with international audiences. His acting skill was recognized with two César Awards, France's highest film honor: the first in 1977 as Best Supporting Actor for *Certi piccolissimi peccati*, and the second in 1980 as Best Actor for the crime film *La guerra delle polizie*. Active until his final years, he continued to enjoy success with films such as the *Camping* series.
