Șerban Pavlu, born on June 29, 1968, in Bucharest, is a Romanian theatre and film actor, considered one of the most representative figures of the Romanian New Wave. His career achieved critical acclaim with his leading role in Radu Jude's *Toată lumea din familia noastră* (2012), a performance that earned him the Gopo Award for Best Actor, Romania's most important film award. He has starred in numerous other internationally acclaimed productions, including *The Death of Mr. Lazarescu* (2005) by Cristi Puiu, *Câini* (2016) by Bogdan Mirică, and *Meda sau Partea nu prea fericită a lucrurilor* (2017). In addition to his work on the big screen, Pavlu is an active stage actor, primarily at the Bulandra Theatre in Bucharest, and has gained widespread popularity for his leading role in the television series *Umbre*, produced by HBO Europe. His acting style is known for its intensity, naturalism, and ability to portray complex and often tormented characters.
