
Franco Graziosi
Franco Graziosi (Macerata, July 10, 1929 – Rome, September 18, 2021) was an Italian theatre, film, and television actor. Trained at the Accademia Nazionale d'Arte Drammatica "Silvio D'Amico", he linked a significant part of his career to the Piccolo Teatro di Milano and his artistic partnership with director Giorgio Strehler. Under his direction, he performed in landmark productions in the history of Italian theatre, including Chekhov's *The Cherry Orchard*, Brecht's *The Threepenny Opera*, and Goldoni's *Harlequin, Servant of Two Masters*, demonstrating exceptional interpretive rigor and great versatility. Also active in cinema, he collaborated with leading directors such as Ermanno Olmi in *The Tree of Wooden Clogs* (1978), the Taviani brothers, and Nanni Moretti in *Habemus Papam* (2011). His long and prestigious artistic career earned him numerous awards, including the Ubu Prize for Best Supporting Actor and the Flaiano Prize for Lifetime Achievement, a testament to his profound contribution to Italian culture.
