Ivan Lebedeff
Ivan Lebedeff, born Ivan Basilievich Lebedev (Usolye, Russian Empire, 1894 – Los Angeles, 1953), was a Russian film actor who became a naturalized American citizen. After fleeing Russia following the October Revolution, he began his career in French cinema before moving to Hollywood in the mid-1920s. Specializing in character roles, he became known for his portrayals of European aristocrats, diplomats, and charming antagonists, often embodying the "continental lover" stereotype. His filmography includes over one hundred films, with notable appearances in *Blonde Venus* (1932) with Marlene Dietrich, *Bombshell* (1933) alongside Jean Harlow, and the adventure classic *Gunga Din* (1939). Although his roles diminished in importance during the 1940s, he continued to work steadily until his death. For his contribution to the motion picture industry, he was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
