Jila Shahi
Jila Shahi is an Iranian-Italian actress. Born in Tehran, she moved to Italy, where she began her acting career, establishing herself in arthouse cinema. She received her first major recognition for her performance in Mauro Mancini's film *Non odiare* (*Thou Shalt Not Hate*, 2020), a role that earned her the Nuovo IMAIE Talent Award, a collateral prize at the International Critics' Week of the 77th Venice International Film Festival. Her career continued with roles in major productions, notably Gianni Amelio's *Il signore delle formiche* (*Lord of the Ants*, 2022), for which she received a David di Donatello nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Her other works include Mark Cousins's *The March on Rome* (2022) and Paolo Virzì's *Un altro ferragosto* (*Another Summer Holiday*, 2024), which have solidified her status as a significant and respected figure in the landscape of contemporary Italian cinema.
