Julieta Serrano (Barcelona, 1933) is a Spanish actress of film, theatre, and television, considered one of the most important figures in acting in her country. Her prolific career, which began in the 1950s, is marked by collaborations with major Spanish directors. She is particularly known for her artistic partnership with Pedro Almodóvar, for whom she acted in iconic films such as *Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown* (1988), *Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!* (1989), and *Matador* (1986), becoming one of the symbolic faces of his cinema. Her role in *Pain and Glory* (2019), also directed by Almodóvar, earned her the Goya Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 87. In addition to cinema, her presence in theatre has been constant and acclaimed, leading her to win the prestigious National Theatre Prize in 2018. Among her other accolades is the Gold Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts, which consolidates her status as an icon of Spanish culture.
