Katia Pascariu, born in 1983, is a Romanian theater and film actress. She established herself primarily on the stage as a member of the company of the State Jewish Theater in Bucharest, and has developed a solid career in independent and politically engaged theater. She achieved international recognition in 2021 for her leading role in the film *Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn* (original title: *Babardeală cu bucluc sau porno balamuc*), directed by Radu Jude. Her portrayal of Emi, a schoolteacher whose career is threatened by a private video, was critically acclaimed and contributed significantly to the film winning the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival. Her filmography also includes roles in other significant works of the Romanian New Wave, such as *Beyond the Hills* (2012) by Cristian Mungiu and *Aferim!* (2015), also by Radu Jude, consolidating her position as one of the most important actresses of her generation.
