
Paterson Joseph
Paterson Joseph is a British actor and writer born in London. Trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), he is known for his extensive career spanning theatre, television, and film. In theatre, he has worked extensively with the Royal Shakespeare Company, playing prominent roles such as Brutus in a celebrated all-black production of *Julius Caesar*. He is also the writer and performer of the one-man show *Sancho: An Act of Remembrance*. On the small screen, he is famous for his role as Alan Johnson in the cult sitcom *Peep Show*; his other television roles include Rodrick in *Doctor Who*, Connor Mason in *Timeless*, and Kamal Hadley in *Noughts + Crosses*. In film, he has appeared in movies such as *The Beach* and *Wonka*. In 2022, he published his debut novel, *The Secret Diaries of Charles Ignatius Sancho*, based on his stage play, for which he won the Royal Society of Literature's Christopher Bland Prize.
