Renzo Carboni
Renzo Carboni (Cagliari, 1933 – Cagliari, 2017) was an Italian painter and engraver, considered one of the most significant figures in Sardinian art of the second half of the 20th century. His artistic career, launched after his studies at the Cagliari School of Art, was characterized by a personal language that combined a deep bond with the nature and landscape of Sardinia with a modern and lyrical sensibility. His body of work includes paintings, etchings, and extensive graphic art, in which his incisive line and symbolic use of color explore themes related to myth and ancestral memory. He gained significant national and international recognition, participating in prestigious exhibitions such as the Venice Biennale and the Rome Quadriennale, which solidified his reputation. Alongside his creative activity, he also dedicated himself to teaching. Today, his works are held in numerous public and private collections, testifying to his important contribution to the Italian art scene.
