Rudolf Lenz (Graz, 12 April 1920 – Ingolstadt, 12 July 1987) was an Austrian actor. He achieved his greatest popularity in the 1950s, becoming one of the most representative faces of the Heimatfilm genre. His most famous role was that of the hunter in the film 'The Hunter of the Silver Forest' (1954), which established him as a public idol. This was followed by other successes such as 'The Song of the Mountains' (1955) and 'Homeland' (1955), often starring alongside actress Anita Gutwell. With the decline of the Heimatfilm genre at the end of the decade, his film career slowed down. In the following years, he focused primarily on theatre, working for a long time at the Ingolstadt theatre, and on television productions. For his popularity, he received the prestigious Bambi award for two consecutive years, in 1955 and 1956.
