
Scott Paulin
Scott Paulin (born in Steubenville, February 13, 1950) is an American actor and director. Known for his versatile career as a character actor, he gained prominence for his portrayal of astronaut Deke Slayton in the critically acclaimed film *The Right Stuff* (1983). His most recognizable film roles include performances in *Cat People* (1982), *Teen Wolf* (1985), where he played the protagonist's father, and *Pump Up the Volume* (1990). On the small screen, he is known for the recurring role of Jim Beckett, the protagonist's father in the television series *Castle*, appearing in all eight seasons. In addition to acting, Paulin has developed a prolific career as a television director, directing episodes of successful series such as *Melrose Place*, *Beverly Hills, 90210*, and *Early Edition*.
