
Stefania Sandrelli
An Italian actress born in Viareggio in 1946, Stefania Sandrelli is one of the most representative figures of Italian cinema. She debuted at a very young age, rising to fame at fifteen with Pietro Germi's *Divorce Italian Style* (1961). Her partnership with the director continued in *Seduced and Abandoned* (1964), cementing her status as an icon of the *Commedia all'italiana*. Her career evolved through collaborations with major directors, including Bernardo Bertolucci (*The Conformist*, *1900*), Ettore Scola (*We All Loved Each Other So Much*), and Tinto Brass (*The Key*), showcasing her remarkable versatility. In the following decades, she continued to play leading roles, working with directors such as Bigas Luna (*Jamón Jamón*) and Paolo Virzì, who directed her in one of her most acclaimed roles in *The First Beautiful Thing* (2010). Throughout her long career, she has received numerous awards, including three David di Donatello awards, six Nastro d'Argento awards, and the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the Venice Film Festival in 2005.
