
Yves Jacques
Yves Jacques is a Canadian actor born in Quebec City on May 10, 1956. A versatile actor, he is best known for his long-standing collaboration with director Robert Lepage, with whom he has performed in internationally successful stage productions such as *La face cachée de la lune* and *Le Projet Andersen*. In film, he is a recurring figure in the works of Denys Arcand, playing the character of Claude in the acclaimed trilogy consisting of *The Decline of the American Empire*, *The Barbarian Invasions* (winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film), and *Days of Darkness*. His career also includes significant roles in French cinema, in films such as Patrice Leconte's *The Girl on the Bridge* and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's *A Very Long Engagement*. Praised for his precision and his ability to range between comedy and drama, he has received numerous accolades, including several Gémeaux and Jutra Awards. In 2009, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada, one of the country's highest civilian honors.
