Yves Jacques is a Canadian actor born in Quebec City on May 10, 1956. A versatile actor, he is best known for his long-standing collaboration with director Robert Lepage, with whom he has performed in internationally successful stage productions such as *La face cachée de la lune* and *Le Projet Andersen*. In film, he is a recurring figure in the works of Denys Arcand, playing the character of Claude in the acclaimed trilogy consisting of *The Decline of the American Empire*, *The Barbarian Invasions* (winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film), and *Days of Darkness*. His career also includes significant roles in French cinema, in films such as Patrice Leconte's *The Girl on the Bridge* and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's *A Very Long Engagement*.
