Peter Ramsey is an American director, illustrator, and storyboard artist, best known for his work in animation. He began his career in Hollywood as a storyboard artist, contributing to highly successful films such as *Fight Club*, *Independence Day*, and *A.I. Artificial Intelligence*. His directorial debut came in 2012 with the DreamWorks animated film *Rise of the Guardians*. His international breakthrough came in 2018 as co-director of *Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse*, a work critically acclaimed for its stylistic and narrative innovation. For this film, Ramsey, along with his co-directors, won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, becoming the first African American director to receive this honor. He has since worked as an executive producer on the sequels in the Spider-Verse saga and has directed episodes of live-action television series, including *The Mandalorian*.
