Tomas Alfredson, born in Lidingö on April 1, 1965, is a Swedish film director. The son of the celebrated actor and director Hasse Alfredson, he began his career in Swedish television, working on various productions. He achieved international fame in 2008 with the horror film *Let the Right One In* (*Låt den rätte komma in*). Acclaimed for its melancholic atmosphere and its reinterpretation of the vampire genre, the film won numerous awards, including the Guldbagge Award for Best Director, and received a BAFTA nomination. His success was consolidated in 2011 with the spy thriller *Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy*. An adaptation of the novel by John le Carré, the film garnered widespread critical acclaim and several Oscar nominations, winning two BAFTA Awards, including one for Outstanding British Film. His filmography also includes *The Snowman* (2017). Alfredson's style is known for its meticulous pacing, evocative cinematography, and the intense psychological depth of his characters.
