Damián Szifron, born in Ramos Mejía on July 18, 1975, is an Argentine film director and screenwriter. He rose to prominence in his country with the cult television series *Los Simuladores* (2002-2004), which he created and directed, blending comedy, thriller, and social criticism. His film career continued with movies such as *El fondo del mar* (2003) and *Tiempo de valientes* (2005), consolidating his style. International success came in 2014 with the anthology film *Wild Tales* (*Relatos salvajes*), produced by Pedro Almodóvar. The work received widespread critical and public acclaim, earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film, the Goya Award for Best Ibero-American Film, and the BAFTA Award for Best Film Not in the English Language. Through his works, Szifron explores social tensions and human fragility with black humor and suspense. In 2023, he directed his first English-language film, the thriller *To Catch a Killer*.
