Edgar Morin, born Edgar Nahoum in Paris in 1921, is an influential French philosopher and sociologist, considered one of the leading theorists of complex thought (pensée complexe). His academic career was primarily based at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), where he served as Emeritus Director of Research. His monumental work is *The Method* (*La Méthode*), a six-volume endeavor published between 1977 and 2004, in which he outlines the principles of a knowledge capable of grasping the interconnections and challenges of globality, opposing the fragmentation of knowledge. His other widely influential works include *Seven Complex Lessons in Education for the Future*, commissioned by UNESCO. For his intellectual contribution, he has received countless international recognitions, including dozens of honorary doctorates and the highest French honors, such as the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour, establishing him as one of the most important voices in contemporary thought.
