Gaspar Noé
Gaspar Noé, born in Buenos Aires in 1963, is an Argentine-born French director and screenwriter, known for his provocative, visceral, and technically audacious cinematic style. His career is marked by works that explore the darker aspects of the human condition, often through non-linear narratives, long takes, and an immersive and disorienting use of camerawork. He gained international attention with his debut feature film, *Seul contre tous* (1998), which won the International Critics' Week award at the Cannes Film Festival. He solidified his reputation as a controversial auteur with *Irréversible* (2002), presented in competition at Cannes and notable for its reverse chronology and explicit scenes of violence. His other significant works include the first-person psychedelic journey *Enter the Void* (2009) and the choreography of chaos *Climax* (2018), which earned him the Art Cinema Award at the Directors' Fortnight, confirming his status as a polarizing yet acclaimed figure in contemporary auteur cinema.
