Jesse Adam Eisenberg (born October 5, 1983) is an American actor, playwright, and director. Known for his roles as intellectual, talkative, and often neurotic characters, he gained critical acclaim with independent films such as *The Squid and the Whale* (2005) and *Adventureland* (2009). His international breakthrough came in 2010 with his portrayal of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in David Fincher's film *The Social Network*, a performance that earned him nominations for the Academy Award, Golden Globe, and BAFTA Award for Best Actor.
