John Lasseter

John Alan Lasseter is an American animator, director, and producer, considered a pioneering figure in computer-generated animation. After an early stint at Walt Disney Animation Studios, he joined the computer graphics division of Lucasfilm, which later became Pixar Animation Studios. At Pixar, he directed pivotal films such as *Toy Story* (1995), the first entirely computer-animated feature film, *A Bug's Life* (1998), and *Cars* (2006). As Chief Creative Officer of both Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios, he oversaw an era of great critical and commercial success for both studios. His work has earned him numerous accolades, including two Academy Awards: one for the short film *Tin Toy* and a Special Achievement Award for his leadership on *Toy Story*. In 2018, he left his positions at Disney following allegations of misconduct, and in 2019 became the head of Skydance Animation.
