Jordan Haworth Peele (born February 21, 1979) is an American actor, comedian, director, screenwriter, and producer. He first gained prominence as the co-creator and star of the successful comedy series *Key & Peele* (2012-2015), for which he won an Emmy Award. Subsequently, Peele made an acclaimed transition into film directing, specializing in thriller and horror films with a strong element of social commentary. His debut film, *Get Out* (2017), earned universal critical and popular acclaim, winning him the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, a historic achievement for the genre. He went on to direct the films *Us* (2019) and *Nope* (2022), solidifying his reputation as one of the most innovative and influential filmmakers in contemporary cinema. Through his production company, Monkeypaw Productions, he has also produced successful works such as the film *Candyman* (2021) and the reboot of the series *The Twilight Zone*.
