Juan José Campanella, born in Buenos Aires in 1959, is an internationally renowned Argentine director, screenwriter, and producer. His career reached its peak with the film *The Secret in Their Eyes* (2009), a dramatic thriller that earned him the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. He had previously received a nomination in the same category for *Son of the Bride* (2001), a critically acclaimed comedy-drama. Both films star his frequent collaborator, Ricardo Darín, with whom he also worked on films such as *Luna de Avellaneda* (2004). In addition to his work in Argentine cinema, Campanella has built a solid career in American television, directing episodes of hit series such as *House* and *Law & Order: Special Victims Unit*. He has also explored animation with *Underdogs* (2013), which won the Goya Award for Best Animated Film, confirming his artistic versatility.
