His career is marked by his constant collaboration with Véréna Paravel, with whom he has co-directed influential works. His most notable films include *Sweetgrass* (2009), about sheep herding in Montana, and the revolutionary *Leviathan* (2012), an acclaimed exploration of industrial fishing shot with GoPro cameras. Subsequent projects such as *Caniba* (2017) and *De Humani Corporis Fabrica* (2022) have continued to explore extreme corporeal and sensory themes.
