Norman Ferguson
Norman Ferguson, also known as "Fergie," was an American animator and director, a key figure at Walt Disney Studios during their golden age. Hired in 1929, he quickly distinguished himself with his intuitive and dynamic animation style, which focused more on emotion and movement than on precise draftsmanship. He is considered the primary developer of Pluto's personality, particularly in the famous flypaper sequence. His talent for expressiveness and comedic timing is evident in memorable characters such as the Big Bad Wolf in *Three Little Pigs*, the Witch in *Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs*, and the fox Honest John in *Pinocchio*. He later transitioned to directing sequences, contributing to films such as *Fantasia*. For his fundamental contribution to the art of animation, he was posthumously honored with the Winsor McCay Award in 1987 and the title of Disney Legend in 1989.
