Sean Baker is an American film director, screenwriter, and producer, known for his independent films focused on marginalized communities. After gaining attention with *Starlet* (2012), he achieved international fame with *Tangerine* (2015), a critically acclaimed film shot entirely on smartphones that explores the lives of two transgender sex workers. His success continued with *The Florida Project* (2017), which received numerous awards and an Academy Award nomination for actor Willem Dafoe, and the subsequent *Red Rocket* (2021).
